E3: My Most Anticipated

So E3 has come and gone. There’s always such a big hype train happening during this time of year, where we get the announcements for big titles coming during the holiday season, and trailers for things on the horizon. There’s always some controversy to boot. If you were one of the people who were the test audience for my podcast project, you’ll recognize this discussion from the show. That was a pilot episode of sorts, so because it’s not seeing the light of day just yet, I thought I’d post my portion of that bit here. Plus, J3w3l already did one for her most anticipated. So these are my 10 + 1 most anticipated games from E3 (in no particular order):

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Why I’m excited: I’ve been playing Dragon Age since day one. I’m the guy that bought all the DLC and even enjoyed Dragon Age 2, despite all the changes. This game will be awesome, I’m already sure of it.

The Order 1886

Why I’m excited: Uncharted game-play meets the supernatural. Need I say more?

No Man’s Sky

Why I’m excited: Who wouldn’t be excited by this trailer? The possibilities are endless. However, wtf are we supposed to be doing with this awesome world? Questions need answered.

Evolve

Why I’m excited: It’s PvP meets co-0p on a scale that’s different from the everyday shooter. Playing as the monster is almost always fun.

Uncharted 4

Why I’m excited: I loved the cinematic feel of all the other Uncharted games. It’s the real Indiana Jones game that was never made.

The Evil Within

Why I’m excited: The OG creator of the Resident Evil series. There is much to be excited about, as this might be the RE fans have been clamoring for.

Dead Island 2

Why I’m excited: Dead Island has this strange appeal. It’s like Skyrim meets zombies. Really, it’s pretty awesome. This trailer doesn’t give much, but I am excited nonetheless.

Alien: Isolation

Why I’m excited: Survival Horror. For some reason I can’t explain, this genre speaks to me. This game looks like an Alien game worth playing. But they’ve done that before in trailers. Here’s hoping this game lives up to the potential the IP has.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Why I’m excited: Another IP with a long list of failures. Most Middle-Earth games don’t appeal to me, despite loving the lore. The Nemesis system looks to do something different with the AI, and I’m intrigued.

Bloodborne

Why I’m excited: It’s a different take on the Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls genre. I enjoy difficulty. This game looks promising.

Bonus: H1Z1

Why I’m excited: H1Z1 is a game that came out of left field, and I’ve been excited about it since day one. Though I haven’t played DayZ, I always thought the concept was great. This game is doing a lot of things I don’t see other MMOs doing, and I want to see more of it every chance I get. I haven’t been excited about an MMO launch for years. This one has me foaming at the mouth.
